About the Role

At Workbench Energy, we strive to provide innovative electricity market software solutions that ensure and support successful participation in the IESO electricity markets for our clients. As we embark on large-scale IT projects, we are seeking a highly skilled and talented .NET Developer to contribute to our success. As a Full Stack .NET Developer, you will participate in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications for our cutting-edge projects. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will leverage your expertise in .NET software development to produce clean and scalable code that meets high-quality standards. Your problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment will be essential in delivering exceptional software solutions.

We are looking for applicants with relevant university education and experience. Working experience in the Ontario power sector is an asset.

  • Develop and implement robust and efficient cloud-native software solutions using .NET technology stack, adhering to industry best practices and coding standards.
  • Utilize JavaScript/TypeScript, JQuery, Bootstrap, CSS to enhance user interfaces and create interactive web experiences.
  • Perform thorough testing of applications and systems, identifying and resolving any issues in a timely manner.
  • Continuously improve existing software through code refactoring, performance optimization, and enhancement of functionality.

Required Skills

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • 3-5+ years of strong development experience and high proficiency with Microsoft .NET, C#, Entity Framework, MS SQL Server, T-SQL, ASP.NET, MVC, Razor, and Web API.
  • Proficiency in using web UI technology such as Javascript, jQuery UI, Bootstrap or similar tools.
  • Proficiency in algorithms and data structures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
  • Collaborative mindset, written and verbal communication.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Azure development, including Azure App Service, Azure Active Directory, Azure Identity Access Management (IAM), Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, Azure Cosmos DB, etc.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and Azure DevOps practices.
  • Experience in energy sector domain.
